STEAM-ENHANCED VAPOR EXTRACTION

This is an innovative, in-situ soil remediation system that combines soil vapor extraction with a thermal technology and bioremediation. Steam is injected into the soil through injection wells and soil vapor is extracted through extraction wells. The heating of the soil by steam mobilizes the contaminants. Following thermal treatment and cooling, bacterial action, enhanced by increased permeability of the soil, further reduces contaminant concentrations.
